Terminology: Scrum Master
DEFINITION
The term Scrum Master has two main definitions.
- Originally a Scrum Master was a scrum expert, recognized as being a person that could coach others.
- Over time Scrum Master has also become a specific role within a scrum team. This role often acts as the facilitator for a scrum team working on an agile project. Scrum Masters typically have little authority, but a high level of expertise, and, perhaps even more importantly, they usually have earned a high degree of trust from their team members and peers.
